How to grow seeds
- Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours
- Sow in 15mm deep compost in tray in mid-March to mid-April in a sunny, well-drained position. Germinates between 2-3 weeks, depending on the weather condition.
- Cover the tray with the lid and keep in warm condition,
- Plant outdoors in late May to early June when plants are strong and mature

- When the main vine is about 6-8 ft long, cut off the growing tip this will

- To Hand pollinate the female gourd flowers, simply take a male gourd flower and strip of the petals to expose the stamen, now gently touch the stamen, onto the stigma of the female flower, ensuring that it touches the surface all-round the middle of the female flower, same procedure can be done using a fine bristled paint brush or q tip.
- If pollination is successful, the ovary or mini gourd attached to the female flower will bend downwards and begin to enlarge and grow into a gourd, in case the pollination is not successful the flower will drop off. It can take up to 2 weeks for the gourd to grow into full size and be ready for harvest.
- Vine plant with vigorous branches which can grow to 3-4 meters in height.

- Water regularly during growing period make sure the soil is not dry. Regular watering encourages plant to flower and bear fruits.
